Fairly common in suitable habitat. Undocumented perception of decline in some areas.

There has been no long-term change in UK distribution and abundance (
cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 9th June to 9th August
