Scarce and infrequently recorded  - not annual
Reported by Rosie as fairly common on poplar and suitable Salx species, but not recorded from any of the Rothamsted sites.
Scottish Status: Widespread  - possible increase since 1980. UK Status: Common
UK distribution shows a significant increase since 1970 (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 7th July to 5th August  (1 late record 1st September may indicate a second generation)
