Probably established in coniferous plantations having benefited from the expansion of commercial forestry, but under recorded because of flight period.
Not recorded by Rosie but seven records from two Rothamsted sites between 1990 and 1998 with increased frequency towards the end of the period.
Scottish Status: Common - stable. UK Status: Common
UK abundance increased until mid-2000s but has since decreased (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 27th February to 27th May
