FOX MOTH Macrothylacia rubi
Probably commoner than records suggest and under recorded as an adult.  Majority of recent records are of larvae.
Records from 3 Rothamsted sites in 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984 and 1993 indicate that the species was established in the County.

First and last flight dates recorded in Caithness: 19th May to 11th June
