Scarce and infrequent but probably under recorded because of flight period
Records usually of single moths but 8 from one site in ND02 in 2020 indicates it is be more numerous in some habitats.

Scottish Status: Common - stable  UK Status: Common
UK abundance has shown a significant long-term decline (cf: Atlas of Britain & Ireland's Larger Moths)
First and last flight times recorded in Caithness: 10th to 27th October  (one late record 15th December)
