CONFUSED Apamea furva
Local - but possibly overlooked because of confusion with similar species
Said to be not common by Rosie and 19 records from the Halkirk Rothamsted site between 1984 and 1987.
Lower photograph show the tuft of scales at the base of the training edge of the wing which helps to distinguish this species.
